Job title: POLICY AND MEMBERSHIP MANAGER
Closing Date: 19th January 2018
Organisation: End Violence Against Women Coalition
Are you passionate about women’s rights and do you want to work for an agenda setting organisation? Join EVAW in the campaign to End Violence Against Women and Girls.
Gender based violence is not inevitable and good public policy and practice can and should address it, but it has to be a priority. The new Policy and Membership Manager will work with EVAW’s Co-Directors to develop our policy and knowledge systems as well as relationships with their members.
They are a small policy and campaigns organisation whose purpose is to lobby all levels of Government in the UK to improve their policy and practice on violence against women and girls and to influence and shape public attitudes. EVAW argues that this violence is not inevitable - political will, backed by public support, could eradicate it. Their vision is of a society where all women and girls can live their lives free from violence and the threat of violence.
They are looking for a policy and membership manager who will develop and maintain their relationships and communications with their members, as part of their policy and knowledge systems. You will also help the whole team stay abreast of policy developments and research and contribute to whole team campaign planning and policy and media responses.
EVAW are looking for an exceptional person to fill this role. You will have:
- Strong knowledge of the different forms of violence against women and girls, theoretical and practical approaches to them, and policy recommendations and practice related to them.
- Knowledge and understanding of equality and diversity, anti-discriminatory practice and an intersectional feminist analysis of violence against women and girls.
- Experience of working with a broad range of stakeholders and developing policy recommendations to achieve change.
This is a unique opportunity to lead the policy work for a recognised influential and strategic campaigning organisation which is part of a broader social movement.
They can offer you a dynamic, creative and feminist environment and the opportunity to work on an incredible campaign with their members who are change makers, practitioners, researchers and discourse shapers in all areas of violence against women and girls.
