Women and Girls Network (WGN) is a specialist therapeutic service leading in developing and delivering innovative counselling services for women and girls who have experienced all forms of gender-based violence. The successful post holders will have an in-depth understanding and experience of working with women chronically disempowered through multiple disadvantages alongside experiences of gender-based violence and a proven track record of providing specialist therapeutic support to ensure the highest quality provision. They will join WGN’s Indigo Project; a new innovative service delivering specialist, trauma focused, integrated holistic, high-intensity care pathways from a multi-disciplinary team.
The ideal candidates will be passionate about developing and delivering empowering client centred services and would thrive in a multi-cultural feminist environment and will have a background in and be able to demonstrate the following:
- Experience of working within a multidisciplinary team in a VAWG specialist organisation
- Experience of engaging clients with mental health presentations including high risk and multiple needs
- Be BACP or UKCP accredited and have experience of providing a range of counselling interventions for women who have experienced gender-based violence
- Be able to demonstrate an understanding of gender responsive approach, trauma focused, holistic therapeutic responses and multicultural competencies
- Be able to facilitate recovery and responding to a diverse client group with multiple cultural identities
