We are seeking a Counselling and Psychotherapy Coordinator for Anahi – LAWRS’ Counselling and psychotherapy project which offers a women-centred, culturally specific service in Spanish and Portuguese for Latin American women survivors of violence against women and girls (VAWG). The Coordinator has overall responsibility for the smooth running of the service, and ensures the maintenance of high levels of clinical excellence and compliance with the BACP Ethical Framework for Good Practice. The Coordinator is responsible for the line management of two part-time counsellors/psychotherapists and the coordination of a team of volunteer counsellors. The Coordinator also assesses referrals to the service, offers crisis interventions, where required, and keeps a small caseload.

You will have an excellent command of English and Spanish or English and Portuguese (or the three languages); a professional qualification in psychotherapy (to diploma level or equivalent); experience providing individual therapy to women survivors of abuse; an excellent understanding of the issues facing Latin American women in London and in particular survivors of VAWG, management experience and a commitment to promote and uphold women’s rights. Professional registration with BACP (or being in the process of obtaining it).
