East London Rape Crisis Service provides free, confidential specialist support for women and girls who have been raped or experienced any other form of sexual violence or abuse.

The women who work and volunteer at ELRC offer confidential and independent support. Services include emotional and practical support, one-to-one counselling, group support and advocacy.

nia is a professionally approved member of Rape Crisis England and Wales; an umbrella organisation supporting Rape Crisis Centres across the country. Rape Crisis is completely independent of the government and the criminal justice system.

The East London Rape Crisis Information & Support Line Worker is responsible for providing emotional support and information to female victim/survivors of sexual violence, including rape and childhood sexual abuse.

Job title: Information & Support Line Worker

Description: 

The main responsibilities of the post are:

• to ensure a quality service is provided to survivors of sexual violence- including childhood sexual abuse- via the Information & Support line
• to provide proactive support to women and girls on the East London Rape Crisis advocacy and counselling waiting lists

We’re looking for a highly organised and self-motivated woman who is passionate about ending male violence against women. You’ll have a ‘can-do’ approach and demonstrable commitment to nia’s feminist approach to supporting women and their children to be safer. You will work -a minimum of 1 and maximum of 2 -evening shifts until 8:30 pm on a weekly basis and Saturday mornings on a rota (approximately every 6 weeks). This post also requires a degree of flexibility in covering occasional additional week day evening and Saturday morning shifts.

Salary : £25,301- £27,724 (inclusive of LW)

Job title: Lead Counsellor

Description:

You will deliver one to one counselling to female survivors of sexual violence within a feminist framework. You will also work alongside the Counselling Manager to allocate referrals, review risk and manage waiting lists. This post will also involve supporting the East London Rape Crisis Management team to meet outcome and output targets and further develop the counselling service.

We’re looking for a highly organised and self-motivated woman who is passionate about ending male violence against women. You’ll have a ‘can-do’ approach and demonstrable commitment to nia’s feminist approach to supporting women and their children to be safer. You must be BACPor UKCP accredited and have experience of working with survivors of sexual violence. A qualification in therapeutic supervision and experience of delivering group work is desirable.

Salary : £17,099 incl LW (£28,499 pro rata)

Job title: Independent Sexual Violence Advocate (2x)

Description:

The service is currently funded until 31st March 2017; with a possibility of extension

We are seeking to recruit two posts.

The ELRC Advocate provides a proactive support and advocacy service to female survivors of sexual violence in and outside of the criminal justice system, across seven East London boroughs.

In recognition of the diversity of languages spoken across East London we particularly welcome applications from women who can speak any of the following languages: Bengali, Gujarati, Urdu or Polish
