Role: Interim Freelance Operational Manager

Hours: 3 Days per week

Duration: 4th Sept -31st March 2018 (6months interim cover)

Fee: £1,600 per month

Base: Hackney

About Hands Inc

Hands Inc's mission is to inspire health and wellbeing. We are a small charity based in Hackney and have been operating since 2001. We provide innovative person centred health activities to support individuals and front line services to enhance quality of life.  Our services  has included complementary therapies for the frail and those with long term complex health issues, a range of wellbeing and exercise activities, stress awareness classes and our innovative menopause project.

 

Hands Inc’s flagship menopause programme creates a safe platform where women can explore and share their experiences or curiosity about the menopause. We are at the forefront of delivering services that challenge the stigma and taboo associated with this transitional stage of women’s lives. We also seek to influence commissioners and stakeholders that design services for women and are carrying out research to help advocate the need for services that meets women’s needs. We are working in partnership with City & Hackney Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG), LB Hackney Public Health Team and Homerton Hospital in the development of this programme. As well as with other partners who bring their exceptional knowledge and expertise in this area of work.

Key Purpose of the Post:

This interim role as Operational Manager of Hands Inc is responsible for the operation, administration, management and development of the charity. For ensuring that all projects and programmes are run efficiently and effectively within designated budgets and meet identified targets/aims; that staff are successful in performing their designated roles and responsibilities and that the Board of Trustees are fully informed at all times. The manager also has lead responsibility for funding and financial management, for ensuring the sustainability of the charity and for the development and maintenance of positive relationships with funders, partners and stakeholders.
