Module 1 [10:00-12:30]

What’s it about?

Module 1 will enable you to understand funders’ criteria, the key features of a good funding proposal and the evidence funders require to demonstrate effectiveness.

What will I take away?

  • How to define ‘need’ and the ‘problems’ of your service users with clarity and focus to funders
  • Types of evidence funders are looking for
  • An understanding of the difference between outputs and outcomes

Module 2 [13:00 – 16:00]

What’s it about?

Module 2 will pull together and clarify all the key components of a successful funding proposal.

What will I take away?

  • Greater understanding of the key questions funders ask
  • How to set a budget for your project
  • Top tips on writing for success


Who’s the trainer?

Helen Cylwik has over 20 years’ experience of working in the voluntary and public sector with 10 of these at senior management level including 5 years as the CEO of Elders Voice a London-based older people’s charity.  As CEO of Elders Voice she transformed the organisation from minor player to leading charity for older people in Brent.  Her experience as a health service manager includes responsibility for a £1.5M third sector commissioning budget and redesigning community services for older people.   She now works on a freelance basis in the voluntary sector providing training, fundraising and organisational development.

This course is funded if you are a Voluntary, Community or Social Enterprise organisation based in London.

If you do not fulfill the above criteria the following applies:

  • If your organisation is a Member of WRC you will need to pay £25 for the full day,
  • If your organisation is not a member of WRC you will need to pay £50 for the full day.

Please note this training is NOT women-only. 

Due to strict funding requirements, places are limited to two participants per organisation.
